Effective date: October 27, 2026

We respect intellectual property rights and expect members to do the same. Only upload content you own or have permission to use.

Reporting infringement

If you believe content on Whiskrs infringes your copyright, email [email protected] (subject line “Copyright notice”) or use our no-login complaint form. Please include:

  1. your name and contact details (email is enough);
  2. a description of the work you believe is infringed;
  3. the link to, or a description of, the content on Whiskrs;
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law;
  5. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner, or authorised to act for the owner; and
  6. your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is fine).

This covers notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and Canada’s Copyright Act notice-and-notice regime.

What we do

We review valid notices promptly, normally within 7 business days. Where appropriate we remove or disable access to the content and tell the member who posted it. Where Canadian law requires it, we forward notices to the member concerned and keep the records the law requires.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or that you have the right to use it, you may send a counter-notice to [email protected] explaining why, with your name, contact details and signature. We may restore the content unless the person who complained tells us they have started legal proceedings.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe others’ copyright.
